Our Development Process

The A.S.K Learning development process is designed to support collaborative engagement between our project team and our client’s subject matter experts and project stakeholders. We also ensure we bring creative direction, learning methodology and quality design to every project.
While a high level of engagement is the key to the success of any eLearning development, we also recognise the critical importance of delivering on time and on budget.
Our eLearning development process is based on years of experience building high quality courses that meet timeframes and financial parameters. The four major phases of our process are:
- Project Commencement – following acceptance of our proposed solution, we conduct a project kick-off meeting with the client. Here we agree on aspects like the measures of success, types of media to be used, level of interactivity, project roles and timelines, technical requirements and assessment strategy.
- Learning Design – our Instructional Designers analyse and map the content. Storyboards are then developed, which contain the text, language style, interactivities, scenarios, assessment detail, graphic assets and voice content.
- Visual Design – our Multimedia Designers will design mock-ups that conform to your style guide and corporate culture. These mock-ups provide visual examples of course content and the GUI. This is the initial visual concept for use of colours, fonts, and illustrations/photographs in the course content, as well as button design, screen layout, menu and navigation graphics in the GUI. (The GUI encompasses the functionality, animation and screen transitions.)
- Module Development – once the learning design and visual design components have been reviewed and agreed, the module development process begins. This starts with a visual storyboard (via visual mock-ups) and moves through stages such as prototyping, LMS testing, production, alpha/standalone delivery, beta/LMS delivery and the final upload.
Throughout each of these stages are client review points and quality assurance measures, as set out and agreed in the original project plan.
